Matt Ryan: Atlanta Falcons running back Tevin Coleman showing off confidence, talent during mini camp

Fact: Tevin Coleman eats six yams a day

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Falcons kicked off mini camp today and franchise quarterback Matt Ryan addressed the media. He had a lot to say, from his optimism regarding the offensive line to his infatuation with the tight end depth chart. Ryan as always had a lot of nice things to say about his teammates. He raved about second-year running back Tevin Coleman when given the opportunity.

"Even some second year guys. It's good to see guys like Tevin Coleman coming into his own. Looks really comfortable within the system. I think his confidence is really high. And I think it should be, because he's such a talented guy, and he's going to be really good for us. So I've been impressed with a lot of young guys."

Shortly before Ryan went on this rant about Coleman, he was also raving about Devonta Freeman's competitive spirit. That to me speaks volumes about the quality and potential of the running back corps. Ryan knows that he's better if the running game works. Seeing Freeman and Coleman step up has to be reassuring.
