The Atlanta Falcons' reported interest in cornerback Josh Norman was quickly dismissed by the front office. He then signed a 5 year, $75 million dollar deal with the Washington Redskins. ($36.5 million is guaranteed.) That's quite the progression for the 28 year old cornerback. Think about it, one day he's a hated member of a hated divisional rival's team. The next day, he's supposedly being suited by the Falcons. One more day and he's suddenly a complete non-factor for our purposes.
Meanwhile, Norman had some parting comments regarding Julio Jones. Credit to the always fantastic Vaughn McClure for the quote.
Will Norman miss seeing Jones twice a year?
"Absolutely because he's a terror, and I'm a horror film," Norman told ESPN.com. "The `Clash of the Titans.' It'll never be the same. But it's his division now and I wish him much blessings and success."
This is just Norman. It's nothing new, because let's be honest, football players run their mouths, especially cornerbacks. Norman is certainly no exception to that rule. Given his age, he's sure to decline before his contract expires. Also, given that Norman was supposedly floored by the Carolina Panthers' decision to rescind their franchise tag, one has to wonder why the Panthers didn't trade him.
