Falcons visit with DE/OLB Dadi Nicolas

New, comments

The team is doing their due diligence on later round talents.

While draft-talk is normally hyper-focused on the first few rounds of the draft, it's in the later rounds where the great teams find incredible value. Finding those "diamonds in the rough" takes work, and the Falcons have brought in another potential player to evaluate in that vein.

For those who are unaware, Nicolas projects to go anywhere between the 5th and 7th rounds. He's an intriguing project that has some great measurables, but who has some serious question marks as well. You can read a nice analysis of Nicolas here.

He's projected as more of a 3-4 OLB, which would probably translate into the SAM position in Quinn's defense. Given the players currently projected to play there, he is likely a long-term project who will have to make his impact on special teams initially. At the very least, the Falcons visiting with him indicates that they intend to consider bolstering their defensive depth through this draft class.
