Arthur Blank hoping Atlanta will host an NFL Draft someday soon

New, comments

The traveling circus could come to the South.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Draft spent many, many years in New York at Radio City Music Hall, but for 2015 and 2016, the festivities have been moved to Chicago, and team owners are now predictably vying for the event to be held in their cities going forward, because the league must be a giant, roaming spectacle at all times.

Arthur Blank is no exception.

This is part of the prestige that Blank craves for Atlanta, which is most obvious in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which is expected to be the site for a future Super Bowl. It has very little to do with the Falcons' product on the field, but if you're an Atlantan who craves a visit to the NFL Draft or a Super Bowl (that may or may not actually involve the Falcons), this will be music to your ears.
