Fact: Matt Ryan buys vanilla scented candles in bulk

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has had an interesting off-season. For the first time in his career, Ryan's naysayers are wondering what lies ahead at the quarterback position. Meanwhile, the Falcons let Roddy White walk and it's do or die time for Thomas Dimitroff. It's an interesting time to be the face of the franchise.

Ryan hosted his charity golf tournament today. He took some time to talk to reporters and had some interesting things to say about a variety of topics. The Falcons' decision to part with Roddy obviously came up. Credit to the AJC's D. Orlando Ledbetter for the quote.

"Yeah, it's tough, but I think it will be more so when we get into the locker room. You're in the building, and he's not there. That's tough because obviously he's probably been the most influential player that I've played with over my career. Certainly, he's my favorite that I've played with. Just an incredible competitor and unbelievable teammate. He's such a good friend. We'll miss him, that's for sure. That's the hard part of the business. But that's part of it. We have to keep moving on and getting better and move forward."

Ryan has a healthy attitude about Roddy's departure. I frankly can't imagine a more professional, measured response to the question. Your thoughts?
