Per Vaughn McClure, the Falcons have lost out on the Danny Trevathan sweepstakes, but figure to land former Colts linebacker Jerrell Freeman instead.
Bears signing Danny Trevathan, according to @AdamSchefter. I expect the Falcons to sign Jerrell Freeman.

Trevathan was identified as a Falcons target early and often, and Atlanta was mentioned as being in the hunt as recently as last night. I'm guessing the Bears simply outbid the Falcons for his services, which is a shame because Trevathan is both young and very talented.
We'll have to see the money for both, but Freeman is a good consolation prize for the Falcons, though missing out on Trevathan is obviously disappointing. Freeman is 29 years old and spent 2015 with the Indianapolis Colts, where he put up 112 tackles, 3 sacks, and an interception, grading out quite well. He'd figure to start in the middle of Atlanta's defense immediately if signed, relegating Paul Worrilow to the super-reserve role I think he'll wind up thriving in.
Stay tuned to see where this goes, but hopefully we'll have some news on the Freeman front.
