The Falcons are hopefully not planning on returning both Chris Chester and Andy Levitre to the starting offensive line. Dan Quinn likely realizes the team needs to upgrade the interior of the offensive line, and Atlanta is reportedly "in the mix" for Seattle guard J.R. Sweezy.
D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has the news.
The Falcons are also in the mix for Seattle guard J.R. Sweezy, who’s 6-foot-5 and 296 pounds. He’s coveted by several teams. The Falcons are hoping he’d be an upgrade over Chris Chester at right guard. He was seventh round pick in 2012 out of N.C. State. In 2015, he started 15 regular season games and two in the playoffs while playing more than 1,000 snaps.
Sweezy still needs some work, but should hold up better over the course of the season than the aging Chester. Ledbetter, of course, also mentions that the Falcons are hoping to sign Mack. If the team can secure both players, the offensive line should improve their consistency in 2016.
