Report: Falcons working to re-sign O'Brien Schofield

The versatile reserve was a locker room leader for the Falcons in 2015.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

O'Brien Schofield was a useful player and valuable locker room presence for the Falcons in 2015, so it's not a surprise they're working on bringing him back.

Whether Schofield finds a deal in Atlanta to his liking is the real question, considering McClure reports that the Bears, Cowboys, and Titans (of course) are also in the market for his services. The Falcons are sniffing around some of the bigger names on the market and don't figure to pony up a lot of cash for Schofield, who profiles best as a reserve pass rusher who can move between defensive end and linebacker as needed. A two-year pact that offers a little security and a slight pay hike over a year ago would be ideal for the Falcons, but will Schofield take it?

We'll find out shortly, in all likelihood, but I'm certainly hoping we'll see him back.
