Report: former Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator implies Matt Ryan is afraid of Brent Grimes

Fact: Matt Ryan puts water on his cereal

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes recently signed a two-year deal that will bring him back to the NFC South. He will feel right at home, donning the familiar red and black. But instead of suiting up for the team that kicked off his NFL career, Grimes will play for the division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Grimes may be on the wrong side of 30, but the kid can still play ball. His departure from Miami was, in a word, "tumultuous." That said, the past is the past and he's moving on.

In comes Dirk Koetter, the former Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator turned Buccaneers head coach. Koetter had some interesting things to say yesterday during Grimes' introductory press conference.

"You know, I haven't seen Matt Ryan back down from too many corners," said Koetter, who was the Falcons' offensive coordinator from 2012-2014. "But Matt would tell me every day, we can't throw this route on that side because Grimes is over there."

Them is fighting words, Dirk. Your thoughts?
