I don't know if he's the short-term solution at safety or simply depth, but Charles Godfrey is back with the Falcons for another year.
S Charles Godfrey back to the Falcons: 1-year, $965,000.

Godfrey has bounced on and off the roster the last season and a half, playing reasonably well when his number is called, but never quite earning a starting job. With William Moore off the roster and Robenson Therezie and Kemal Ishmael looming as the only options at safety opposite Ricardo Allen, who should have a starting gig, Godfrey is cheap veteran competition at worst, and a one year stopgap at safety at best.
I'm hoping the Falcons aren't done shopping at safety just yet, especially if there's a young safety they like in the NFL Draft, but there's nothing wrong with a little insurance at a position of need.
Welcome back, Charles Godfrey!
