Scouting Combine: Quarterbacks, wide receivers, and tight ends work out today

It's a big day for the Falcons, who will have their eye on adding at least one of the receivers and tight ends in thsi year's class.

We're on to the second day of Combine workouts, and this group is a most interesting one for Atlanta.

That's primarily because of wide receiver. The Falcons will head into 2016 with just one established, top-flight option in Julio Jones, with some combination of a young Justin Hardy, aging Roddy White, recovering Devin Hester, and scrapmasters Eric Weems and Nick Williams fighting for playing time if they don't upgrade. Given how uninspiring that corps is even if White hits the fountain of youth and Hardy improves a lot, they're very likely to add a free agent or draft a receiver. This is an intriguing receiver class, too, with plenty of players expected to go in the first three rounds who would represent legitimate upgrades. Especially if Atlanta strikes out on Travis Benjamin, Jermaine Kearse, and a handful of other options in a weak free agent class, you should expect a receiver to go in the 2nd or 3rd to the team.

Tight end will be a position worth monitoring, too. The Falcons badly need a young, capable tight end to develop with a Jacob Tamme and Levine Toilolo as their two primary options at the moment, and they've been linked to top tight end Hunter Henry out of Arkansas already. Perhaps he'll damage his stock just enough to fall into the Falcons' laps, while we're dreaming?
