The NFL combine begins this week. If you're not sick of the pre-draft coverage yet, then you'd better buckle your seat belt, because it's only going to intensify.
SB Nation's Dan Kadar released his latest mock draft today. Like many draft pundits, Kadar has the Falcons selecting a defensive player in the first round.
7. Atlanta Falcons: Darron Lee, LB, Ohio State
After the combine, we'll see some players rise considerably in the draft. One of those players could be Lee, a high-end athlete with speed and athleticism. Compare Lee to someone like Myles Jack, for instance. What are the real differences? There not as vast as you'd expect. For the Falcons, Lee could star in the middle of the defense that has some incredible talents.
Lee is a confident, versatile athlete who loves to compete. He can do pretty much anything you ask him to do. Much of the nitpicky criticism you see about him relates to teachable flaws. (He's too aggressive, he draws too many penalties, etc.) The Falcons sorely need an infusion of talent on the defensive side of the ball; it's just about narrowing that focus. Lee could fit in immediately and play any number of roles.
