I’ve been torn about this matchup for a few days now, since I was able to put that enjoyable win over the Panthers in the rearview and focus on the Saints.
The choice, here, was to go against a loss I’ve been predicting for months or embrace the uncertainty that comes with playing the Saints, who offer up the second-best offense in the NFL and always manage to fare better than you’d anticipate. If Atlanta holds them in check entirely, I’ll honestly be stunned.
What you have to ask yourself is whether you think a full-strength Falcons team at home can get the job done against another flawed New Orleans team. The answer to that, when you strip away the recent history between these two teams, is obvious.
Ultimately, I think Atlanta’s just playing too well right and has too much at stake to lose this game at home, though I’ll cop to the ghosts of Falcons past haunting me a bit here. It’ll make my final 10-6 prediction happily wrong, and I’ll go with 35-31 Falcons.
What’s your final score prediction?
