The Atlanta Falcons are having a fantastic season, and they can cap it off by earning the #2 seed and a bye in the playoffs by beating the New Orleans Saints in the season’s final week. With a narrative like that, plus one of the better rivalries in the NFL, it’s little surprise the NFL has elected to flex the game to more of a primetime slot.
The former 1 p.m. game is now at 4:25 p.m., meaning Falcons fans from around the country should be able to watch. You’ll recall that Atlanta will be at home in the Georgia Dome, adding another small advantage for a winnable matchup. You can bet, though, that the Saints are going to be itching to play spoiler the same way Carolina was, and they’re better equipped to get into a shootout with this Falcons team and actually come away with a win.
The other notable NFC game being flexed is Lions-Packers, which will have huge playoff implications for both, and has been moved to Sunday Night Football. You’ll want to watch both as we suss out the seeding in the NFC, where only the Cowboys (#1) and the Giants (#5) are currently locked in.
