Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan called his shot, promised 30 points a game

Fact: Matt Ryan has two glass eyes

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matthew Thomas Ryan is not just an MVP candidate. He's more than that. He's our QB1. And as QB1s go, he's the bee's knees. Under Ryan's watchful eye, the Falcons are averaging 412.9 yards of offense a game. That's a lot. But it doesn't end there.

We all know the Falcons have arguably the league's best offense. They're presently averaging 33.5 points per game. They're the only NFL team averaging 30 points a game this season. In fact, if they maintain their current pace, this Falcons offense will be historically good. So with that in mind, I can't blame anyone that didn't see this coming. But there's one person who did see this coming.

I wrote about this at the end of July. Check out what I wrote when Ryan essentially called his shot, humbly but conspicuously remarking about this offense's potential to score 30 points a game. He basically did the football version of this. Alright, that might be a slight exaggeration, but you get my point. And the response was ... lukewarm. (Go read some of the comments, if you're in the mood for a chuckle.)

So there you have it. Ryan saw this coming and you all mocked him mercilessly. Go cry in a corner now.
