The Atlanta Falcons are fresh off a massive beatdown of the Los Angeles Rams, and now they set their sights on the San Francisco 49ers, a team that is arguably even worse. This is the easiest stretch of the schedule by far.
The reasons to be optimistic about this matchup are myriad. Firstly, the Falcons are at home, and may have a healthier Jake Matthews and Julio Jones/Mohamed Sanu/both back in action. Secondly, the 49ers have one of the league’s worst defenses, worst offensive lines, and worst receiving corps. Thirdly...well, hell, you don’t even need a thirdly.
The intrigue here is whether the Falcons will come out flat and give the 49ers a chance to get into this one and stay in it, but that’s reaching a bit. After watching the Rams game, I’m about as confident as I reasonably can be in a win, even if it winds up being closer than I think.
I’ve got the Falcons by a score of 35-24. How about you?
