After the Falcons have raced out to a 6-3 record on the back of the best offense in the NFL, you may wonder how they could possibly be underdogs to this Philadelphia Eagles team. They are, though, by a single point.
Atlanta’s on the road, which is a major reason for this line, even though the Falcons have fared well away from the Georgia Dome. The oddsmakers also like the Eagles better than the rest of us do after watching the last couple of games, but it’s true that there’s enough talent on Philadelphia’s roster to make for a tough challenge for Atlanta...if they’re on. That’s always the question, though.
Atlanta’s advantage? They’re the best offense in the NFL, their defense is at least young and athletic, and they’re reasonably well-rested after playing Thursday Night Football against the Buccaneers, who they destroyed.
This should be a good game, either way.
