Falcons - Chiefs final score predictions for Week 13

Who will win the battle of these two teams, which are so unlike I’m struggling to wrap them up in a neat little bow together?

The Kansas City Chiefs have a tremendous defense, with a relentless pass rush and opportunistic secondary, and they’ll be a great test for this high-flying Atlanta offense. Will they be enough of a test to earn Kansas City a victory, though?

This game is going to be a study in contrasts, to put it mildly. Kansas City is offensively mediocre at best, while Atlanta’s defense is mediocre at best. Atlanta’s offense is one of the best in the NFL, and they’ll need to contend with a Kansas City defense that at least ranks in in the top five. One of these teams is going to have to break, and if you can say with confidence you know which one, get outta town.

I will say this: The Kansas City offense isn’t exactly going to take flight against Atlanta, and Atlanta’s offense has only been slowed a handful of times this year, even against terrific defenses. I believe Atlanta will be tripped up once or twice before the end of the year, but I don’t believe it will be against this Chiefs team, as fearsome as they are. They’ll almost certainly hold the Falcons to a lower point total than they enjoyed against the Cardinals, but it shouldn’t be enough unless the Falcons’ defense totally falls apart. Ha ha ha, nervous laughter.

I’ve got the Falcons carrying away a win by the score of 27-21, as outrageously optimistic as that may be. How about you?
