Your Atlanta Falcons are now 6-3 after dismantling the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tonight. It was a little bit of redemption after their week one encounter at the Dome. (They'd actually lost their last three games against the Buccaneers.) There was only one noteworthy injury, which is huge. That said, the injury affected a critical player. Let's talk about it.
Desmond Trufant left the game in the first half with a "shoulder injury." He wasted no time and immediately went to the locker room. The Falcons initially deemed him "questionable" to return. Eventually they ruled him out and he was seen in street clothes on the sideline during the second half.
It's not clear what happened to Trufant's shoulder. It wasn't visibly wrapped or on ice, so there's reason to be cautiously optimistic. Interestingly Jalen Collins stepped in for Trufant and didn't manage to screw anything up. (He gave up a touchdown late in the game during garbage time.)
