Falcons - Chiefs odds: Atlanta opens as four point favorites over Kansas City

Favored again, and it feels so good.

Your Atlanta Falcons were favored against the Arizona Cardinals at home this past Sunday, and they delivered an impressive 38-19 win. The Kansas City Chiefs are a better team, to put it mildly, but the Falcons are still at home and still have the league’s most potent offense, so they’re the pick to win again. Atlanta’s currently favored by four points.

You don’t have to think very hard about why, frankly. The Chiefs just lost a crushing home game against the Buccaneers, who suddenly look like they can win games with their defense, and they came out of a slugfest with a physical Denver Broncos team with a hard-fought win, and they’re now going to travel. Their defense is legitimately tough and legitimately terrifying, with Justin Houston and Marcus Peters looming as huge threats, but their offense is pretty punchless. If Atlanta does what it has done to other elite NFL defenses this season, I doubt Kansas City can keep up with the onslaught.

Despite those friendly odds, though, this is probably the single most difficult matchup left on the slate, minus the always weird and competitive NFC South games. I won’t take the Chiefs lightly, and I know none of you will, either.
