Your Atlanta Falcons have had a little time off. We’re about to find out if that time off did them any good.

Atlanta’s opponent this week matches up reasonably well against them, with a strong running game and athletic defense that can serve as an effective counter to the Falcons’ team speed. That might be enough to carry them to victory, but against a rested Falcons squad at home with that stellar offense, I don’t think it will get it done this time.

That’s good, because as we’ve written a lot over the last week or so, the Falcons really could use this win. The NFC playoff race is extremely tight at the moment, and the NFC South is a little closer than any of us would like. A win, a Tampa Bay loss, and we’re back in business, so let’s hope Atlanta is up to the task today.
