The Atlanta Falcons pass rush has been on fire recently, and they are getting one of their best sack artists to full health. And you can never underestimate the game-changing abilities of old man strength.
A few weeks back Freeney got out of bed too quickly, and suffered a pretty nasty injury. D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has the specifics on his health.
Freeney then told Ledbetter that a scoop of “iced creams” used to cost a penny, complained about kids always staring at their “telephone answering machines,” then hopped in his 1994 Buick and drove off 15 MPH under the speed limit.
Getting Freeney back to full health is huge for Atlanta’s young, inconsistent defense. Outside of Vic Beasley and Grady Jarrett, the defense line has been poor. Jonathan Babineaux looks done and Tyson Jackson stopped flashing mediocrity.
If Frreney can stay healthy, the Falcons should have a much easier time slowing down opposing quarterbacks and securing a playoff spot.
