Who are the Falcons going to draft in the first round in 2017?

Food for thought, perhaps a little early.

It’s the bye week, it’s 8 p.m. on a Friday, and there’s not a bit of breaking news in sight. Time to look ahead by several months!

One of the questions that has come up multiple times on podcasts and on the social medias in recent weeks concerns what the Falcons will draft in the coming year. The positions they need are fairly obvious, given that they’re A) not terrific at right guard, where Chris Chester is a one-year stopgap with a mixed record in 2016 and B) dealing with some pretty lousy play at defensive tackle outside of Grady Jarrett and maaaybe Ra’Shede Hageman.

Throw in question marks at linebacker and pass rusher, and plenty of people arguing over the futures of Ricardo Allen and Ryan Schraeder, and you’ve got a decent-sized shopping list to mull over. The question tonight is, which position goes first?

I’m not going to color your discussion too much—though I’d push for a defensive tackle with some pass rushing chops—but go nuts and let us know what you think.
