Falcons vs. Broncos 2016: Who to watch in Atlanta's biggest test

New, comments

The Falcons will try to take down this reigning Super Bowl champs this weekend. Here's who to watch when it goes down.

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons continue to surprise the entire NFL with their explosive short passing offense. This week they'll try to take on the defensive powerhouse that are the Denver Broncos.

Here's who we're watching as Atlanta tries to make it four in a row.

Ryan Schraeder, Offensive Tackle

DeMarcus Ware will be out for this one, but the offensive line will still have to face off against the likes of Von Miller and Shane Ray. Schraeder has been key in Ryan's success early this season, and another good performance today will be absolutely crucial to Atlanta's chances of winning.

Jacob Tamme, Tight End

Tamme hasn't been having super impressive stat-lines with a lot of yards, but he does give Ryan a clutch 15-20 yard completion in almost every game. If Julio and Sanu struggle to get much going against Denver's nearly impenetrable secondary, it could be a big day for the veteran tight end.

Robert Alford, Cornerback

Alford has been struggling a bit so far this season and is a magnet for penalties. Denver has quite the trio in Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, and Cody Latimer, making this a great chance for Alford to make his case for a contract extension this offseason. With Trevor Siemian out, Alford will be facing a rookie quarterback in Paxton Lynch, which may help him.

Who are you keeping an eye on this week?
