Here’s the good news: Coming off of his 300 yard game, Julio Jones is not on the injury report. The bad news is that a lot of key players are listed on the injury report, including rookie linebackers De’Vondre Campbell and Deion Jones, neither of whom practiced Wednesday.
Campbell has been battling an ankle injury he suffered in practice during Week 2, and Deion Jones is dealing with an ankle injury — originally identified as a calf injury — he sustained during Sunday’s win over the Panthers.
Defensive end Dwight Freeney was held out of practice for non-injury related reasons, as he is every Wednesday. Punter Matt Bosher has a right hamstring injury, and he missed Wednesday’s practice, and linebacker Paul Worrilow remains out with a groin injury.
Kicker Matt Bryant was limited on Wednesday with a hamstring injury, and this one is troubling, because Bryant is generally very reliable, but when he has missed kicks it has generally been during weeks that he’s appeared on the injury report. It’s something to keep an eye on this week.
Right guard Chris Chester was limited with a knee injury. Receivers Justin Hardy and Mohamed Sanu were both limited on Wednesday with shoulder injuries, and tight end Jacob Tamme has a hip injury that kept him limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Defensive end Brooks Reed has a shoulder injury, but he was able to participate fully in Wednesday’s practice.
There are a lot of key players on the injury report today, and hopefully we’ll see some guys promoted from not being able to participate to at least limited status on Thursday.
