The FalcFans Podcast: Got them dirty birds, call me Julio

The new episode recaps Sunday's thrilling win over Carolina, which includes Julio Jones being unstoppable, Matt Ryan's improvement, Sean Weatherspoon, and more.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Sitting in first place, the Atlanta Falcons might be here to stay. They dominated the NFC champions on Sunday minus a standard second half blip. It’s hard to depend on the Falcons to play four flawless quarters. They were outstanding for three quarters, before putting the finishing touches on an overwhelmed Panthers team.

The Falcoholic’s William McFadden joins Falcfans’ Aaron Freeman and I to discuss Sunday’s magical performance. We immediately talk about Julio Jones’ career day and Carolina’s defensive flaws. As the offense remains a central focus, Taylor Gabriel’s unexpected impact is assessed. Aaron tries to play down Matt Ryan’s fantastic start to the season. We eventually get into Sean Weatherspoon’s season-ending injury and how the Falcons should address it.

The Falcoholic’s Kyle McClendon joins the show, as we swing our focus towards the defense. That means drooling over Dwight Freeney’s spin move. The pass rush is showing signs of life, while Deion Jones has been improving on a weekly basis. Kyle praises Brian Poole for his contributions over the past month. Vic Beasley’s improvement and Jalen Collins’ future is analyzed as well.
