The Atlanta Falcons played their hearts out today but unfortunately (thanks to some help from the officiating crew) couldn't get it done. The up and down game ended controversially, and we won't soon forget Richard Sherman's grabby shenanigans. It's only their second loss and it came in an away game against a formidable opponent coming off a bye week. In short, the sky is not falling. But there were injuries, so let's break them down.
Phillip Wheeler was shaken up before halftime. He was seen grabbing his knee in the 2nd quarter but it didn't look too serious. In any case, given how banged up the linebacker corps has been lately, it's something to keep an eye on.
Taylor Gabriel took a scary hit late in the 2nd quarter. He was hit hard and simultaneously by two defenders. His ams tensed up as if he lost consciousness and he was evaluated for a concussion. You should definitely expect him to miss some time.
C.J. Goodwin suffered a hamstring injury which will likely pave the way for Jalen Collins' debut. (If you recall, Collins' suspension ended two weeks ago but he wasn't active against the Denver Broncos and he wasn't active today.) An injury to Goodwin could be the open door Collins is looking for.
Finally Derrick Shelby injured his calf in the 4th quarter. He had to be helped off the field and couldn't put weight on his right leg.
