I’m just gonna level with you: There are going to be a lot of awful early games this week, and you’re probably only going to care about a couple of them unless your fantasy matchup hangs in the balance. Such is the peril of following the NFL in 2016.
The first game that should pique your interest pits the Eagles against the Redskins, which is relevant because one of those teams is going to come out of the NFC East and could (getting way ahead of ourselves) draw the Falcons in the playoffs.
The second features the Panthers against the Saints in a battle for the basement of the NFC South. Whichever team loses here is almost certainly dead in the water for the season, and Carolina is going to want very badly to avoid that outcome after they just went to the Super Bowl in 2015. It should be a fun, sloppy game.
Here’s your full slate of early games. Hold your noses and dive in.
