The Atlanta Falcons preseason has finally come to its merciful end. The injury bug pretty much avoided this game, and that's a good thing. Let's break it down.
Sean Renfree took a nasty hit while connecting with Carlton Mitchell on a 25 yard touchdown reception. Rex Grossman replaced him right after that. No reason to think Renfree was hurt, but it's something to keep an eye on. Another guy that took a nasty hit was Jacob Tamme, though that was in the first half. Again, there's nothing indicating it's something to worry about. Just a little disconcerting.
Travis Howard went down with a shoulder injury in the second half; he was questionable to return. Howard had been playing well, so it's an ill-timed injury. The training staff had to escort him to the locker room. Interestingly he was banged up earlier in the preseason. Howard has bounced around a couple practice squads. It'd be nice to see him get a shot on ours.
Colin Mooney was hurt late in the game on a special teams play. Hopefully it's nothing that will limit him, because with his first half rushing touchdown, Mooney has a decent shot to beat out Patrick Dimarco. Breaking after the game was the news that Brooks Reed underwent surgery to repair a torn groin muscle. His recovery is expected to take 6 weeks. Major bummer, if you ask me. Your thoughts?
