Jon Asamoah not on field, Falcons deny a trade is brewing

Where there's smoke, there may well be fire. The team is denying it, however.

While keeping Jon Asamoah as quality veteran depth makes sense, a trade also would. It would seem odd for the team to not dress Asamoah, who is by all indications healthy enough to play, if they didn't have something in the works. Whether a deal fell through or we're all reading the tea leaves wrong remains to be seen, but this is an odd, still developing situation.
