Falcons vs. Giants 2015: Who to Watch in a Week 2 Showdown

It's actually kind of difficult to find a non-demoralizing picture here.

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

Matt Ryan, Quarterback

I typically stray away from naming Ryan as one of the players to watch in these articles (only because it's so obvious), but this week poses a great match-up. Matt will be facing a Giants defense line that is without its star player in Jason Pierre-Paul, and not much else to strike fear into a Falcons line that is probably feeling a bit of confidence. This is an easier matchup for Ryan than week one, and I expect to see him have a bounce-back game after an iffy season opener.

Vic Beasley, Edge Rusher

Rookie Vic Beasley made quite the debut on Monday Night Football, getting the best of All-Pro Jason Peters on multiple occasions and even batting down some passes. Sunday will match Beasley against Ereck Flowers; a guy who had trouble against Dallas last week, and is expected to play despite dealing with a small ankle injury. Flowers is known to struggle against speed rushers, giving Vic Beasley a good chance at recording his first NFL sack this weekend.

Andy Levitre, Offensive Guard

Andy Levitre graded out as the worst Falcons offensive lineman last Monday night, but he didn't look all bad. In fact, I can only recall a time or two where the former Titan raised an eyebrow. Levitre has been thrown into the lineup with little to no preparation this season. Now that he's finally back in a zone blocking scheme, don't be surprised to see his play improve dramatically upon last year, and continue to keep an eye on him as the season progresses. He could prove to be a pivotal piece on the Falcons new-look offensive line.

What are your expectations for the guys above, and who else are you keeping an eye on during Sunday's game against the Giants?
