The Falcons were justifiably underdogs to the Eagles a week ago, and then they pulled off a stunning, awesome victory in the fourth quarter. Vegas took a hard look at that performance and decided the Falcons should be underdogs again this week.
The always useful SB Nation odds page has the Falcons listed as between 2 and 2.5 point underdogs, depending on where you look. That would make the Giants the favorites, which makes sense if you consider that New York is at home.
Of course, even though I'm predicting an Atlanta loss here, I'm not sure the Giants should be the favorites on paper. They're down Jason Pierre-Paul and Victor Cruz, they're a wildly inconsistent team in their best seasons, and the defense just doesn't look very good. They're capable of much better performances and I suspect we'll see one, but I also sense that the Falcons are going to be underdogs for a while, unless they start piling up a lot of wins.
What say you?
