Prior to practice, Falcons head coach Dan Quinn informed the media that Julio Jones (hamstring), Devin Hester (toe), Brooks Reed (groin) and Malliciah Goodman (tricep) would be held out of today's practice. William Moore was also out with an illness.
Never fear, because Dan Quinn did confirm that he expects Jones to be ready to go on Sunday. Jones also told the media that he is missing practice as a precaution, and Jones is confident he will play on Sunday against the Giants. Jones did have his helmet on the practice field, and he went through warmups with his teammate. Jones played catch with Roddy White during the early part of practice and appeared to be moving around fine with no noticeable limping.
Prior to practice, Dan Quinn said that Eric Weems is at the top of the depth chart for returns if Hester is unable to go on Sunday, but Quinn also mentioned Nick Williams and Justin Hardy as other options in that role. Interestingly, Hardy did not take any return reps during today's practice. Weems, Williams and Terron Ward took turns returning kicks, and Weems and Williams were back to return punts during practice.
There's really not much to report from practices. We're permitted to watch the first 30 minutes, and there just isn't much to see. This does, however, give me some time to answer your Falcons questions.
