The Atlanta Falcons aren't your traditional media darling. Commentators don't fawn over Atlanta's convenient public transportation or its temperate summer climate. But alas, that's a reality we've dealt with for years. These are the days of our lives.
Less than than 24 hours before the season kicks off, ESPN doesn't envision [insert Borat voice] "great success" for the Falcons in 2015. In fact, according to their power rankings, the Falcons are the 23rd best team in the league.
I'm not known for my self-restraint, so why hold back here? This is completely ridiculous. Even if I set aside my homer tendencies for a moment, it's hard to understand their rationale here. With a mediocre offensive line, this is a top ten offense. The defense is significantly better than last year. But ESPN is seemingly acting like this off-season never happened. They're acting like it's still February and Mike Smith is still at the helm. Mind. Blown.
