The Falcons were not in pads for today's practice, and head coach Dan Quinn got in on the action, too, participating in a little special teams work with the kick coverage unit and going through warmups with the players.
There wasn't much change to the status of the players who missed practice or were limited on Monday with various injuries. Left tackle Jake Matthews (back strain), tight end Tony Moeaki (ankle) and linebacker Brooks Reed (groin) were not on the field for today's practice. Roddy White is also still out as he recovers from elbow surgery.
Antone Smith (hamstring), Robensen Therezie (quad) and Joplo Bartu (quad) all worked on a side field with the athletic performance staff, as they did yesterday.
Devonta Freeman (hamstring), William Moore (calf) and Desmond Trufant (shoulder) are all working their way up to full participation. Freeman did more individual work at the start of practice, running and cutting with ease. He certainly looks close to returning to the field.
Quinn declined to say which players should be ready to play Thursday night, although he did indicate that both Brooks Reed and Jake Matthews will be out. Reed is getting a second opinion on his groin injury, and a decision about surgery will be made at that time.
The team does have one more roster move to make by today's 4 p.m. deadline to get the roster down to 75, and Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff are currently working through that process.
