Falcons 2015 Friday Night Lights scrimmage: Schedule, tracker and what to expect

An annual tradition, and a fun one.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Every year, the Falcons scrimmage at dusk on a Friday night, and it's a great time. This year's edition of Friday Night Lights should be no exception, particularly with a coaching change and plenty of new faces on the field.

In essence, there will be two teams of Falcons' players competing against one another in a very loose simulacrum of an NFL game. It's the first and only real chance for the team to do something this organized before the first preseason game against the Titans, which we'll preview early next week. I'll be interested to see how the coaches parcel out playing time and who the standouts are, but this is really more of a cool novelty than an opportunity to draw sweeping conclusions about players, so keep that in mind.

Gates open at 6 p.m. in Lawrenceville, and the scrimmage kicks off at 6:45 p.m. If you're not able to go, be sure to use our tracker below to keep up-to-date on what's happening at Archer High School.

Look for a full recap of the evening from Jeanna Thomas later tonight or tomorrow morning.
