We're on to the sixth day of training camp, which means we've been at this for almost a week now. It's hard to believe football has been back in our lives that long, considering how much I missed it.
Here's our daily recap of things worth watching and considering from Flowery Branch:
- The defensive line is really showing well. Dan Quinn said earlier this week that the team was still figuring out how it will rotate personnel, but it's evident already that this line is a deeper, more talented unit than it was a year ago after adding Vic Beasley, Adrian Clayborn, Grady Jarrett, and O'Brien Schofield to the mix.
- There's a legitimate chance that Sean Renfree (or another QB yet to be unearthed) may knock T.J. Yates off the roster. I don't dislike Yates at all, but his practice performance and limited game performance to this point hasn't suggested a stellar backup option, and he's struggling again in training camp.
- We unfortunately can't keep an eye on everyone, so there are players like Tyler Starr, Cliff Matthews, and Tony Moeaki that we simply haven't seen a lot of thus far. We'll work to remedy that in the weeks ahead.
