Falcons forget to waive Terrell Manning, cut Jonathon Mincy instead

Well this is weird.

You can't cut Terrell Manning just once.

Remember yesterday when Terrell Manning got cut? Yeah, about that. The Falcons official website had this information to share.

Yesterday the Falcons announced that LB Terrell Manning was going to be waived, but that transaction was never sent into the League Office. Manning will remain on the active roster and the Falcons currently sit at 76 players. Atlanta must be at the 75-man roster limit by tomorrow at 4 p.m.

Teams will occasionally keep a player after it is reported they will be released if another team is interested in a trade. For instance, the Falcons traded Akeem Dent for T.J. Yates a few hours after it was reported that Yates was to be cut. However, Manning does not seem to be the type of player who would merit a trade, so this is pretty odd.

Additionally, Manning tweeted this, which does not sound like he made our final roster.

While this is slowly getting worked out, the team released Jonathon Mincy. The Auburn UDFA was likely a long shot for the final roster.

The team now has to cut another player by tomorrow.
