The Falcons were not in pads today as they took the practice field in Flowery Branch, and several players were held out of practice or were limited in the portion the media was permitted to watch.
Devin Hester was out today with a toe injury, Brooks Reed (groin) and Justin Durant (foot) were both held out of today's practice. Tony Moeaki (ankle) and Jake Matthews (back strain) were inside the team's facility during practice working on rehabbing their injuries to try to get them back on the field as soon as possible.
Roddy White is still out as he recovers from a minor elbow surgery last week. Quinn said that White is just waiting for the sutures to heal, and then he'll be ready to get back on the practice field.
Antone Smith (hamstring), Joplo Bartu (quad) and Robenson Therezie (quad) worked with the athletic performance staff during today's practice. Smith suffered this hamstring injury in the first preseason game, and Dan Quinn said after practice that Smith participated in part of the team's walk through and is making progress.
Devonta Freeman (hamstring), William Moore (calf) and Desmond Trufant (shoulder) seemed to be limited in the portion of practice we saw, however, they certainly appear to be closer to getting back on the field. Tevin Coleman appeared to have a full workload in the portion of practice we watched.
Tyler Polumbus worked with the first team at left tackle in Jake Matthews' absence, and Mike Person took James Stone's place at left guard during today's practice.
