Terron Ward, Running Back
With Atlanta's top ball carriers in Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman on the bench this week, Training Camp standout Terron Ward will get a shot to prove his worth to a Falcons backfield that is beginning to look quite crowded. Terron is a small and agile runner that could be a nice fit in Shanahan's zone scheme, but as seen this past week in practice, also displayed the ability to bulldoze through defenders.
Ricardo Allen, Free Safety
Just one year removed from being a 5th round draft on the practice squad, Ricardo Allen is more or less solidifying himself as Atlanta's starting Free Safety in 2015. Ricardo has been on fire this off-season, making big plays in nearly every practice. He'll need to show that he can bring it to a live stage, and our first look is against a very talented Titans' receiving corps.
Joe Hawley, Center
The legend known as Joe Hawley will be making his triumphant return to center, giving the Falcons' line a much needed boost from a year ago. The veteran told me he was feeling great despite suffering ACL and MCL tears at the start of last season, and is ready to get back out there and play. How Hawley performs on Friday will definitely have an impact on his status going into the regular season.
Vic Beasley, Edge Rusher
This one doesn't exactly need to be said, but this will be the first time we've seen 1st Round Pick Vic Beasley in a Falcons uniform, in the Georgia Dome, and playing against another team. We all have a good guess as to how he will be utilized, but it will be oh-so-fun to watch nonetheless.
Who are some players you'll be keeping an eye on this week, and into the season opener?
