Falcons waive rookie safety Damian Parms

The undrafted free agent is the latest player to find himself on the street.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons now have two open roster spots after waiving another rookie player.

Parms was a player I liked coming out of Florida Atlantic, with good size and physicality. He was on a depth chart that has four safety spots more or less figured out, however, and other players who were clearly running ahead of him through camp thus far. He'll hope to catch on with another team this summer, and we wish him luck.

The Falcons, meanwhile, now have the flexibility to scoop up a couple of players ahead of Friday night's game against the Titans. While this is going to get the Evan Mathis buzz going again—and I can't entirely rule that outcome out—it's likelier the team will simply add a little bit of depth at positions they think need it at the moment. Feel free to share your wild guesses in the comments.
