We're back to Falcons training camp this morning, and with any luck, it'll be a banner day at Flowery Branch. This team needs quality practices and healthy players to show well this weekend, after all.
With the game against the Titans looming, here's what you should keep your eye out for at practice today.
- The running back snap counts. With Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman out this week, the Falcons will be divvying up touches between undrafted rookie Terron Ward, veteran Antone Smith, second-year big back Jerome Smith, and new addition Mike Ford. Antone will be on the team this year, but a roster spot or at least a practice squad slot could be on the line for one of the other three players. Let's see if Ward does what we all expect and dominates the carries this week.
- Keep a very close watch on what the Falcons are doing with their front four. We're only going to get a limited glimpse at the starters in this Friday's game, of course, but game action is going to give us a better sense of how the team is planning to use its personnel up front. We may soon know if Ra'Shede Hageman and Adrian Clayborn are going to earn the starting spots their hype would seem to suggest.
- Will Dan Quinn be fired up?
