The Falcons announced Saturday that they have signed Pierce Burton, an offensive tackle who was signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi in 2014. In a corresponding move, the team announced that they have waived guard Harland Gunn. Gunn has been with the Falcons since 2012, and played in 12 games for Atlanta.
Pierce Burton sounds like an interesting fellow. According to the Vikings' official website, Burton has 12 years of experience racing sailboats for the Richmond Yacht Club in northern California. Also, the Falcons tweeted this Instagram video of Burton dunking. For a guy who is 6'6", 305 pounds, he certainly seems athletic.
New OL Pierce Burton goes 6-6, 305. And the man has hops. https://t.co/Tu5Day1hG0 #RiseUp— Atlanta Falcons (@AtlantaFalcons) August 1, 2015
