Falcons Uniform History #39: Oh boy

Number 39 isn't the most memorable number in Falcons history books.

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Where do we start?

Steven Jackson, RB, 2013-14

S-Jax never had a truly successful season as a member of the Atlanta Falcons, but the offensive line wasn't exactly  an advantage for the future hall of famer either. Regardless of his production, the wheels simply began to fall off at the age of 30, and it became apparent at the end of his St. Louis career. Jackson has over 11,000 yards rushing to his name, and will go down as one of the better players that the league has known in the modern era.

Cam Newton, S, 2005-06

Nah, not that one.

Shann Schillinger, S, 2010-12

A sixth round pick out of Montana, Schillinger battled injuries for his entire career while playing backup to Thomas DeCoud and William Moore. There's not much else to say here.

Cliff Austin, Bruce Pickens, James Mayberry, etc...

As you can probably see, there aren't too many recognizable names here outside of Steven Jackson, so he more or less wins this one by default. Nothing against ya' Jax, just how it is.

Who's your favorite Falcon to don #39?
