For those warily watching Vic Beasley's contract status, there's some good news at last.
I'm told Vic Beasley signing his rookie contract "should be soon," so we'll see what happens this week.

If McClure has this, chances are good it's happening shortly. Recall that he broke the news that Beasley would be showing up for OTAs last month despite not having signed a contract, so he's clearly got an in with the prized rookie's camp.
I've maintained all along that there's no reason to worry about Beasley's contract status until mandatory minicamp, and while we got closer to that than anyone would have hoped, it sounds like this will be resolved shortly. It's not clear what the holdup has been, given the small amount of wiggle room available to both parties in negotiating the contract, but hopefully the final agreement will make Beasley and the Falcons happy.
Beasley, of course, will be counted on to deliver significant snaps and bring heat off the edge in Dan Quinn's defense. We have no idea how he'll fare in his first season, but he's a good bet to be the best pass rusher on the team by leaps and bounds before very long.
