Falcons Uniform History: #8 and Rojohombre

It's fitting that I should introduce the winner of the best player ever to wear #8, considering who it is.

As was the case with #4, the Falcons simply don't have a ton of franchise greats who wore #8. The best overall player to do so was unquestionably Matt Schaub, but like Brett Favre, he did his best work for another franchise. That leaves us with a number of players who only put on the jersey for a year, plus Chris Redman.

The man I affectionately call Rojohombre is the only deserving choice here. While he only made six starts in a Falcons uniform, he was the first man to really forge a strong connection with Roddy White, who has since become a franchise legend. He was a surprisingly effective part-time starter and then backup quarterback for this team for a grand total of five seasons before moving on, finishing with nearly 2,000 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and 8 interceptions over that span. There simply wasn't much in the way of competition here, but Redman had a nice run for a backup quarterback.

Who do you think will be #9?
