The Falcons just made their pick in the fourth round, selecting East Carolina wide receiver Justin Hardy.
40 yard dash: 4.56 seconds
Bench press: 11 reps
Vertical jump: 36 inches
Ground jump: 114 inches
3 cone drill: 6.63 seconds
Hardy is a 5'10" receiver with plus blocking skills and good hands. He's not a tremendous athlete and he lacks deep speed, but he is a capable, quick player. Chances are he'll be immediately impactful on special teams, where his blocking skills and aggression will play well, and he'll be in the mix for slot receiver duties in his rookie season. If all goes well, he projects to be a more physical, more red zone relevant version of Harry Douglas, who also was successful running routes underneath and making sideline grabs when called upon.
If the Falcons are looking for a burner, they didn't get one in Hardy, but he could be an asset in the slot and outside as a possession guy for years to come. Let's hope he is.
