Every year, there's a handful of crushing disappointments dotting the roster. Every year, there's at least one or two players who wind up being pleasant surprises. We're here to discuss the latter.
With a new coaching staff in place, it's more difficult to figure out who might shine from that group of new signings, draft picks and returning veterans. The only real criteria here is that the guy you choose has to be a legitimate surprise, as in not a player everyone already expects to do well for Quinn and company.
My choice would be Tony Moeaki. If healthy, the veteran tight end has genuine talent and could be the team's most productive pass catching tight end. The Falcons could desperately use a reliable receiver at the position, and while it's a bit of a stretch to think Moeaki will play 16 games, I think he'll be very productive when he's on the field. The trick is keeping him healthy and getting him snaps with Jacob Tamme and Levine Toilolo also lurking.
Who would be your pick?
