The Falcons parted ways with a UDFA tackle and now stand one player under the 90 man roster limit that takes effect ahead of training camp. Expect the Falcons to acquire a player at some point in the near future.
Falcons roster moves to 89 players after the team waived undrafted Azusa Pacific OT Cody Clay today.

We wish Clay well, but for our purposes the more interesting subplot here is what move might be in the offing. I may be reading too far into this, but the team releasing a tackle would seem to suggest they intend to fill the roster hole with another one. Remember that the Falcons have been linked to free agent tackles Joe Barksdale and Tyler Polumbus, so either one could be heading to Atlanta in the near future. I'd prefer Barksdale, who is younger and has been successful more recently, but we'll let it play out.
Who's your best guess?
