NFL Draft 2015: Falcons to host workouts for local prospects Tuesday

More than a dozen prospects will attend today.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons host a local Pro Day every year, where prospects from the Atlanta area can attempt to impress the hometown team in hopes of earning a draft selection or a look as a priority undrafted free agent.

With a hat tip to D. Orlando Ledbetter and Aaron Freeman, here's the list of prospects working out today:

James Vaughters, DE/OLB, Stanford

Mike Davis, RB, South Carolina

Tory Slater, DT/DE, West Georgia

Norman Hayes, CB, Harvard

Rory "Busta" Anderson, TE, South Carolina

John Mincy, CB, Auburn

Mike Thornton, DT, Georgia

Amarlo Herrera, ILB, Georgia

Garry Peters, CB, Clemson

DeAndre Smelter, WR, Georgia Tech

Zach Laskey, FB, Georgia Tech

Eric Newman, TE, University of West Georgia

Dondre Purnell, WR, Stillman

Gary Wilkins, LB/DB, Furman

As Aaron Freeman at FalcFans notes, the Falcons have plucked a couple of players out of these workouts in the past, in the form of UDFAs Michael Palmer and Kimario McFadden. It's very possible the team actually drafts one of the players on this list in 2015, so it'll be worth keeping these players in mind as we near the end of April. Just don't expect anything concrete to leak out of this one, because as Ledbetter notes, the event isn't open to the media.

Anyone on this list you like?
